Check availability →Good to know: Hammamet itself is a beach resort. The medina is small, about 200 by 200 metres, and the big ancient sites are one to one and a half hours away by road. So most of the strong offers here are excursions, and a day trip eats a day. Diving and hiking are not what this place is for. The best time is May to October; from November to March expect 15 to 18 °C, rain and some closed hotels, so plan indoor options such as the spa day.
Good to know
Carthage is about 75 km away, roughly 1 h 05 by road each way. The most booked tour (Carthage, Sidi Bou Saïd and the Tunis medina with lunch) takes around 8 hours, so it is a long day with about two hours in the vehicle. It is worth it if ancient sites and the old city of Tunis matter to you. If you want something lighter, there is a half-day version to Sidi Bou Saïd and Carthage of about 5 hours.
El Jem is about 147 km away, roughly 1 h 35 each way, and the half-day tour takes 5 hours. Kairouan and Sousse trips are listed in the same category; the duration is on each booking page. The Sahara is a different matter: there is no desert near Hammamet, so the tours in our listing last 2 or 3 days. A same-day trip to the Sahara is not realistic.
The sea is warm from about May to October, with 20 to 28 °C, and warmest in August at around 26 °C. June to September is proper beach weather. From November to March it is low season: 15 to 18 °C by day, rain, cold pools and some hotels closed. Those months suit excursions better than swimming.

We do not hold age, licence or weight rules in our data, so we cannot say whether a given tour suits beginners or children. The minimum age is stated on the booking page of each tour; read it before you book.
Enfidha is the closer one: about 40 to 55 km to Hammamet, roughly 50 minutes by road. Tunis-Carthage airport is around 65 to 75 km away. If your flight allows a choice, Enfidha usually means a shorter transfer; with Tunis-Carthage you are closer to the Carthage and Tunis sites.
