Thalassotherapy and hammam in Yasmine Hammamet: what is in the €70 price?
Updated October 18, 2026 · 5 min read
One booking on GetYourGuide has collected 257 reviews at 4.5 stars: a three-hour spa day at a thalassotherapy centre, from €70, with hotel transfers. It is worth looking at in detail, because the title and the contents are not quite the same thing.
What the words mean
Thalassotherapy is the treatment of the body with sea water and sea products: heated sea-water pools with water jets, seaweed wraps, and so on. A hammam is the North African steam bath, and the gommage is its signature, a scrub given on a warm wet surface by an attendant. Put together, a thalasso-and-hammam day is a circuit of treatments rather than a single massage.
The order of the day, as the listing describes it
After pickup you arrive at a thalassotherapy centre inside a five-star hotel in the Yasmine Hammamet tourist area. The listing does not name the hotel. You are given a bathrobe, towels and flip-flops, change, and begin with the hammam scrub with a seaweed wrap, which the listing says lasts around 40 minutes. Next is a course of jets in a heated sea-water pool, then an affusion shower, a short break with herbal tea, and a full-body massage with jasmine oil.
Reviewers describe a slightly different order and a little more: a jacuzzi, then the steam room, a scrub by an attendant, tea, a massage on the affusion bed, a seaweed wrap and a second massage; another mentions a package of hammam, pool, body wrap and two massages. The order and the number of massages thus differ from the listing’s text, which describes only one massage. If a second one matters to you, ask.
Where the three hours go
This is the point to check. The title says three hours. The itinerary shown on the booking page lists a 30-minute drive each way and, between them, a main stop of 2.5 hours, which it labels with the Yasmine Hammamet medina rather than the spa. Add them up and you have three and a half hours door to door, not three. The review summary on the page makes the same point: some guests found the pace rushed and the total time shorter than advertised; by contrast, one review says the guest was barely left alone for the three hours.
None of this makes it a bad spa day. At €70 with transfers, reviewers often call it good value. It does mean that if you want to lie by a pool afterwards, you should not count on it. Ask whether time in the pool area after the treatments is included, and how long each part lasts.
What is and is not in the price
The price includes the round-trip transfer from your hotel, water and tea. The treatments are described as part of the package, and robe, towels and flip-flops are provided; the listing asks you to bring swimwear. It marks the day as a private group booking. The exact pickup time comes by WhatsApp message the day before.
The listing does not mention tips or any extra paid treatments offered on site. As with any spa, it is sensible to ask in advance whether additional massages are sold at the centre and at what price, so that the number you pay at the end is the number you expected.
Who it is not for
The listing says it is not suitable for pregnant women. Heat, steam and hot water are part of the day: anyone with a heart or circulation condition, high blood pressure, skin problems or another health issue should ask their doctor before booking, because the operator’s page gives no guidance. This is a general precaution, not medical advice.
If you do not like being handled, say so at the start, as in any hammam; the scrub and massage are done to you by an attendant. Two reviews mention that swimwear had to come off, in whole or in part, for the seaweed wrap; if that would bother you, ask beforehand how it works.
Booked here or through your hotel
If your hotel has its own spa, the comparison to make is simple: ask reception for the list price of a comparable circuit and weigh it against €70 plus the transfer. This page cannot give you those prices, and they vary by hotel and season. The advantage of the booking described here is that it collects you from your hotel in Hammamet, at a fixed price.
Three other spa listings we compared have far fewer reviews: Hammam with SPA, Scrub, and Massage Hammamet Hotel at €40 with 4.7 stars on 37 reviews, Prestige Sea & Orient Ritual at €75 with 4.6 stars on 13 reviews, and Luxury Thalassotherapy & Spa Experience at the Five Stars Thalasso Laico at €80 with no reviews. What each includes is on its own page; compare the duration and the treatments before you decide on price.
For a day that is the opposite of the spa, there are quad rides in the hills, and for something calm on the water, the catamaran cruise. Everything else bookable from the resort is on the page for things to do in Hammamet.
